PRINTS
As Hisako Terasaki advanced her artistic practice, she developed a keen interest in Intaglio printing after viewing Miye Yoshida’s “Dandelion” print. Intaglio is a printing technique in which an image is produced by incising lines or grooves into a surface, typically a metal plate. Techniques such as engraving and aquatint can be used in intaglio; the engraved or textured areas retain ink, which is then transferred to paper using a high-pressure press, resulting in a detailed print. Most of the artwork presented on this website has been created utilizing the aquatint intaglio printing method.
